It is play time at the First Step Georgia day care center for children with disabilities. There, about a dozen children of different ages choose games or activities while teachers keep a watchful eye over them. Some race around on tricycles or wheelchairs, some play with toys, while others simply sit or lie silently, lost in their own thoughts.
USAID’s HICD Plus Program Helps Strengthen Project Management Skills for 29 GSE

On May 10, USAID’s Human and Institutional Capacity Development (HICD) PLUS project finished delivering a project management introductory seminar to 29 mid-level managers of Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE). Pre and post-tests demonstrated an average 28% increase in participants’ knowledge. This introductory seminar is part of a three-part project management training program which HICD PLUS is currently delivering for GSE.

On Saturday, May 25 USAID’s New Economic Opportunities (NEO) Initiative and the Berry and Fruit Cultures Development Association hosted the Samegrelo Strawberry Festival in Zugdidi, Georgia. This First Annual Strawberry Festival displayed strawberries harvested in Samegrelo and served as a meeting point for strawberry buyers and sellers all over Georgia.
