U.S. Government Supports Public Forum on Temporary State Commission on Studying Miscarriages of Justice

Stephen M. Haykin, Mission Director for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), will open a public forum on issues related to Temporary State Commission on Studying Miscarriages of Justice held by the Coalition for an Independent and Transparent Judiciary on May 20, at 10:00 a.m.at the Tbilisi Marriot Hotel.
 
The forum will focus on the draft law on Temporary State Commission on Studying Miscarriages of Justice and institutional and substantive issues related hereto.

Annual Fair-Conference for Civics Teachers
300 civics teachers and guests from across Georgia discussed innovations in the field of civics education, shared experiences, and participated in professional development. Awards for the best civics teachers of the year were given to eleven civics teachers at an award ceremony at the conference. This event was sponsored by USAID and organized by the Forum of Civics Teachers, a network of civics teachers established under the USAID’s Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training Program (ACETT).
